Potato & Bacon Bake

Preparation time 10 minutes
Cooking time 1 hour
For 4 people
Ingredients
4 large potatoes thinly sliced (washed but with skin on)
2 medium sized onions
225g smoked bacon without rind and chopped
4 oz strong grated cheese
Half pint of crème fraiche
½ cup of Bread crumbs (optional)

Method
1) Layer the potato onion and bacon in a greased oven proof dish

2) Slowly heat the crème fraiche and grated cheese until the cheese is fully melted

3) Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes, bacon and onion

4) Sprinkle with bread crumbs for a crusty top (optional)

5) Cook for approximately 1 hour in a preheated oven at
​180
 ºC until potato is soft

Tips: You can use other fillings with the potatoes and onions such as tuna fish, sweetcorn, ham, thinly sliced carrots or peas.  This is a very cheap and versatile recipe.
