Simple Sauces

One way to make food more interesting is to add a sauce.  This doesn’t need to be difficult or expensive and can be very versatile.  For instance get a pot of thick double cream warm it slowly in a saucepan and add some horseradish sauce to taste.  This is great with both beef and salmon.

Adding some mustard instead of horseradish also makes a great sauce for beef or steak if entertaining.

Something a little different is to fry some garlic and some chopped button mushrooms (optional) add a tub of mushroom pate and again some thick double cream this makes a great pasta sauce or again to have with beef or steak if entertaining.

If you prefer fish again heat through a tub of thick double cream and add some Salmon pate you can also add a few prawns (optional) again this makes a great pasta sauce.

A quick and simple salad dressing is a teaspoon of honey added to a teasspoon of Balsamic vinegar and a splash of olive oil and mix well.  You can also add some mustard to this to make it a honey and mustard dressing. Simple but very tasty!
